Comprehensive Transportation Plan

In August 2006, the Paulding County Board of Commissioners initiated a transportation planning study within Paulding County. The Paulding County Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP) is a joint collaborative planning effort that brings Paulding County and the cities of Braswell, Dallas and Hiram together with a planning horizon through the year 2030. The CTP was initiated in response to concerns of elected officials and the general public regarding recent and anticipated future growth and increase in traffic congestion. The Paulding County CTP is part of the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) CTP Program for ensuring coordination with the regional transportation planning process, including funding for future improvements.

Through a comprehensive analysis of the existing transportation network, the CTP identified current and future needs for improving the transportation infrastructure in Paulding County. The CTP considered a wide range of strategies, developed a vision and created community goals. Major problem areas and corridors where identified and targeted for appropriate transportation improvements.
